Love this kind of thing. France/Britain's War with Russia over Finland in 1939 (almost), French/British Intervention in ACW (as per Perry), Britain's war with France over Fashoda….but they are all fantasies (or nightmares). Allied, strictly speaking illegal, occupation of Iceland (Indeed, mining of Norwegian inland waterways) in WWII. Could have taken little for war to break out twixt Sweden and Britain, once Britain alone, back then. This seems real though… |

in march 1940 the French Expedionnary Corps organized for Finland and the Georgian unit raised to be sent behind the lines in Caucasus was anything but fantasies without the finnish-soviet armistice : French Artillery Training Officers and NCO's cadres, first medical elements reach Finland and a French Bomber squadron was in England en route when the armistice was signed, if Finland resisted fews days or weeks more there will be French soldiers others than only advisors and medical vanguard, it was Great Britain who was very reluctant to assist Finland directly |
