Never thought about the internal layout but now that I have seen it where are the axles? The Engine? The Transmission? How does this thing generate power and move?

No engine apparently – the wheels are powered individually. As to the other items…

We know there was a "Trans-axle" from the movie dialog. Not sure what or where it might be.

Seeing the internal detail for scale makes it fitting into the dropship that much more amazing.
