This past Saturday I ran a Vows of Iron game for my group. The write up is on my blog.

I love the look of 10mm games. I have resisted the scale, but as more products come on the market, I may have to take the plunge.

Great looking game and it sounds like it was close too!

Frederick's army took the first lumps and it looked like it was going to downward spiral for them pretty quickly but that reversed and the French started losing especially when they lost one of their commanders. Once Frederick's army started to route the snowball it created was too much for them to overcome.

I like this set of rules, clean and plays fast. Wish there was a bit more support for historical army composition and scenarios.
As the scale for troop numbers is pretty open, I'd like sense of what The armies would look like for the Black Prince at Poitiers for example.

barcah2001--I agree with you. I would like a little more work done with army lists or composition.

As the author, I have to plead guilty to the above charges. I tried to include all of the troop types that a person might need for various armies early middle and late in the period, but did not do a follow up book with comprehensive army lists. I have about a dozen lists and a couple of scenarios that I have not published. Please let me know what you would like to have and I will see what I can do.

Thanks for your support of the rules!

Allen,

I love your game. As we've talked before having those extra materials will go along way.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Any specific campaigns or armies you would like to see?

Thanks

My very specific interests are in HYW following Edward III and the Black Prince in France and Spain along with Scottish invasions.

It appears the Vows of Iron website is moribundand not much on this really interesting rules set. I think it suffers greatly from a lack of support. PLEASE can we at least have some input or discussion on unit ratings and scenarios? Scots pikes?…heavy feudal spear? Any special characteristics? I'm interested in anything onHYW!
