Otherworld Miniatures

Gygax described them in his 1977 Monster Manual as being dead ringers for Humans, until they got close enough to see their orange faces, and their blue noses… With that in mind, I used some plastic medieval Humans for Hobgoblins, painting their faces orange, and their noses blue. They work for me.

The fun part for me was that the figures were made from bronze-colored plastic. I left their armor bare, painting everything else, before applying The Dip to them: Bronze Plate Mail is cheaper than steel, but almost as good for Armor Class, so it was a perfect scheme. Cheers!

Definitely Otherworld are the best currectly available. Citadel set the bar, though, with their range.

Wow those Otherworld are good.

I'd suggest the Orcs Wargames Factory did if they were still available.

Found my old thread with a link to a slideshow of the Humans painted as Hobglobins: link. The Humans came in both silver, and bronze colored plastic. The silver Humans were painted as Humans; the bronze plastic figures were painted up as Hobgoblins. At arm's length, they work perfectly as Hobgoblins. Cheers!
