My package arrived from Grand Manner yesterday. I placed an order with Dave a couple of weeks ago. I missed out on the GM shipping promotion by a week or so. So, I wrote to him asking for an extension.

A prompt reply was friendly and accommodating. Since the Pound was down against the Dollar, I thought that it was time to splurge.
With the shared shipping pain, it was my duty to place a large order and really save big!

I bought the Hartwell Tavern pieces, and four other sale items. I got a small clapboard house, a smaller tavern, another "L" shaped house and an Indian Lodge.

The Hartwell Tavern and secondary buildings are just amazing castings. I've never seen resin products this perfect.
These castings are about 98 % free of bubbles, pimples or mis-molds. The blurb on the website says that only 50 castings were made. I can believe it based on the quality of these pieces.

The other castings were almost as good. There are a few places that need sanding or a spot of filler. But still above 95 %, as far as
being free of imperfections.

Each building came wrapped in bubble wrap, in 3 separate layers, to ensure breakage would not occur in transit. All the small pieces were individually wrapped and secured within the appropriate building. Everything arrived in perfect order.

So, thank you Dave and the good folks at Grand Manner. From original email to delivery was less than 3 weeks.
It doesn't get any better than this. Kudos all around.

I know that Dave is a member here. If I could ask him one thing, it would be to have an instruction sheet or something on how to prepare this type of resin for painting. There might be one on the website and I missed it. Anyone know?

Glad to hear this because I also ordered the Hartwell Tavern last night.

nevensrip,

What is so unusual about the resin they use? I usually spray prime it and paint.

It's a beautiful piece. Lucky you! Time to game the Battle Road!

Nothing I guess. I'm used to the JR castings which were full of holes and dimples.
This seems to be a different mixture.

I envy you. I bought the townhouse and outbuilding with timber roof, painted to wargame standards last year and was very pleased with the product. I hope to get something else for XMAS this year (if I'm good :-) )
