This weekend the local HMGS-South group played a WW2 Eastern Front game using GMT's Panzer rules. 3mm Pico armor stands and a 1 inch hex grid terrain cloth were used in place of the map and counters.

If I ever decide to move to stand = company, stand = platoon or 1 = 3-5 unit scales for my gaming, THIS is how I would envision doing it!

Very nice looking. A grand tactical scale sweep of action with lots of tanks on the table, even if there were not quite so many stands on the table. Gives an impressive visual sense of swirling armored masses.
