I have been buying a lot of resin terrain over the years and have found a way, I think, to clean it before priming. I use the dish washer! I throw it in and put it one cycles that don't get things too hot (no sterilizing, not pots and pans) This seems to work pretty well. Its really quick if i have a lot of parts and doesn't require some of the more scary cleaners. Thoughts? |

As long as it doesn't melt or warp the resin, that's an excellent idea. I've done this with plastic figure sprues, but never with resin. - Ix |

Dish soap and dishwasher detergent are entirely different. Detergent is high pH, soap near nuetral. That's why it's working well in the dishwasher. |

I use the dishwasher all the time for that stuff. Just use the fastest and lowest setting and upper shelf so nothing gets too much heat. Air dry on a towel outside the dishwasher. Mike Bunkermeister Creek bunkermeister.blogspot.com |

Since I am the dishwasher I use warm water, washing up liquid and an old soft scrubbing brush. |

Just bought my first resin buildings, so after washing do they need to be primed? If so with what should I prime them? |

Yes, I prime my building with the same primer I use for figures. I tend to prime buildings in black or gray. Then I paing from darkest colors to the lighter highlights. |

I use Rustoleum primer. I use it on figures, models and terrain. The major final color determines what shade of primer I'll use. I also really like spray cans of vehicle camouflage paint. The Khaki paint is great for terrain. |
