Hello,

I am getting confused on the sequence during the fight phase of the game.

Units that charge this turn attack first. Then the two players alternate units starting with the Player whose turn it is.

So units on both sides are potentially fighting during the phase.

Do I have that right?

Thanks

-Luis

Just played my second game of 8th last night and yes that is pretty much how it goes. There are some units to go first regardless of who charged but they are few. The current rules for hand to hand remind me more of the way it played back in the Rogue Trader days which I kind of like.

Don't forget pistols can shoot even if in combat

As I recall, what that means is you can use the stats of the pistol as your close combat weapon. In most cases it will make no difference.

Looking closer at the rules, does this mean that a unit with pistols can shoot in the shooting phase even if it is already in close combat from the previous turn? It seems to indicate it. The rules state that pistols can shoot at enemy units which are within 1". But the only way you can be within 1" is by being in a close combat from the previous turn.

Indeed – you can shoot the enemy in the face with pistols!

Yes Scott, if you are within one inch (which places your unit in close combat) you get to fire with weapons that are listed as "pistols" in the shooting phase and again your unit uses the pistols in the close combat phase. This makes having pistols worth taking again in the game.
