I enjoyed the series. It also offers some interesting ideas for Napoleonic or fantasy gaming. |

Yea, they're ok. I didn't finish the series. Just kind of lost interest. |

I have to get them through inter-library loan, so I have only read the first book. I agree with Allen57. |

I will check w/my library…the .99 might be worth it, but the reviews are not exactly overwhelming enough to buy the whole series. Thanks though! |

The first book was interesting but as far as I was concerned they then went downhill. Jim |

I seem to be odd man out, as I've thoroughly enjoyed the series, especially as Novik weaves considerable moral dilemma into the series regarding the nature of British treatment of the highly intelligent dragons as servile beasts vs. Napoleon's apparent elevation of them to more equal status. |

Meh. Constant downer series, I felt like i was reading the old Napoleonic Naval series by Adam Hardy, about an unlucky officer named Fox. The characters in both series suffer along, never getting a break, until it gets too miserable to be worth reading. I had hopes for the series, it started out well, with lots of cool ideas, and then just sputtered on balefully. Meh. |
