First game of General de Armee last night, played blooding the consular guard part of the battle of Marengo. Neither of us had a chance to really study the rules, but other than a slow down on charges and fighting over a built up area the rules went really well, and was impressed with the feel of them. Definetly looking forward to the next battle, which is Battle for the Pratzen heights. Didnt take any pictures was too involved and just forgot.

Charges will seem quicker the next time you play. I think they are one are where area where have been streamlined over GdB. Gotta love the morale built into results as well meaning no separate morale phase to go through.

By the third charge, we had it sussed. Morale was interesting and worked, I had given up with GdB as we never seemed to get a game finished in an evening, only have three hours at the club, with these rules first time got to turn 6, and obvious defeat for me. Think next game should easily get ten turns done.

We crack through GdB games in 3 hours with say 4 brigades a side (but it helps if you have the author playing 😄)
