Nearly 1000 working hours, two years in low-sleep-mode, the finest peaple to cooperate with…

Shadows in the Void ruleset went from printing today!

cloudcaptain23 Aug 2017 10:23 a.m. PST

Congrats!

How many ships can these rules handle? Are they fast playing?

Marcin from Assault Publishing23 Aug 2017 10:54 a.m. PST

From a few to 24 ships (+defences/targets) depending scenario. The game is and isn't fast playing. The mechanic isn't trivial but is ambious a little – the rules focus on outthinking and misguide opponent first. Sometimes game can turn into long hide-and-seek and sometimes can be resolved quickly, especially if someone finds that you made the mistake.
I tried to keep optimal level of complexity: simple enought to make action flowing (sometimes quickly!), but leaving many options and stressing both resource and risk menagment.
Definitely not beer&pretzel – and never inteded to be.

"…the finest peaple…." It looks fun, Marcin, but you might want to transition into a high-sleep more for a while. Looks like the low-sleep mode might be getting to you.

Yap. Indeed. :D
BTW. I've just learnt new English word :P

mwindsorfw23 Aug 2017 1:42 p.m. PST

When will it go up on your website?

Atoric23 Aug 2017 2:40 p.m. PST

Congrats

@mwindsorfw

Release date is planned for 1.Sept.2017 at 4:45AM (CEST) – exactly 6 years after Hind Commander.

I will keep an eye out for it.

Oooh, new space game that can either be a long game of hide&seek or a short game of boom? May have to get this one!

Marcin from Assault Publishing25 Aug 2017 9:36 a.m. PST

Rather Hide&Seek, outthink, bluff. Boom! is when someone find a gap in opponent's tactic or have tons of luck. Generally Lady Fortune can save your butt, but will not win the battle. Generally in this game frontal assaults with all guns blazing are for fools.
