"How Organized Are You as a Wargamer?" Topic

As a wargamer, how organized are you in your activities? On a scale of zero (no organization) to 10 (perfect organization).

Activities are pretty well organised!

10 – all my unpainted lead is perfectly well organized. Now if you are including the scenery and painted stuff and rules – about a 5

7 pretty well organized ..though every once in awhile..surprise..so that's where I put those.Painting table ..total chaos though..but productive. so maybe a 5 instead.

Painted is stored in nice boxes with graphic labels. Unpainted is stored in boxes with neat Genre/Period/Scale note labels. Rules are stored in file totes alphabetically by title. Bases in a hardware case with labeled drawers for size/material. Terrain either in boxes with graphic labels or on shelves for visual sorting.

I'm about an 7. Periodically, I get up to a 9 but it never lasts. Where I have become super organized is planning projects. I decide on a battle, make a OoB and list of required terrain pieces and check that against my current inventory, both painted and unpainted. Once I determine what I need I go to my bookmark folders and start generating a to be ordered list. Each payday I place a $40 USD-$60 until I have everything I need. As it arrives, I paint it.

Used to be a 7 or 8 but am slipping as fast as my mind.

It varies throughout the year. Gets to about a 2 and I reorganize it back to a 8 or 9 and it decays again from there.

Varies based on game requirements. For an event 7-8, General Organization, 7 (most stuff is in labeled boxes). The "Space" could use a lot of work, I seem to have more than it can hold. Depending on what I'm playing there can be a bit of "spread" into the rest of the house.

7. Everything has a place and is in that place, and (mostly) I even know where that place is. Everything is also grouped together by game and/or scale and genre.

Whether the system would make sense to anyone else is an entirely different matter.

Usually a 7, but there are times when it's less.

Pretty well organized, about an 8 to 9.

But it doesn't help.

I still can't find the spare part I need though I had it and saw it just a day ago.

I still can't find the unit I want even though it is in a box clearly marked with its name.

I go through every unpainted and painted unit I have before I go to a convention to make sure I don't double buy it, and I always do.
