Capitan Miniatures has been caught using a sock puppet account, "Sharp Edge," to attack the Xan Miniatures and Steel72 companies on our forums.

That account has now been Locked.

It goes to show you how far someone would go to try and hurt someone's reputation or company.

Seriously? Bad form Capitan……scuppered me buying anything from you…..

Ragbones22 Aug 2017 2:02 p.m. PST

What a shame. I'm with Dave. No business from me and I'll be sure to spread the word among my friends.

This is not good. There will be a large amount of gamers out there who usually pop up and say "don't care so long as i get my stuff".

I never understand the inconsistent treatment of multiple accounts.

Here is one where someone has two accounts and they end up locked but one of our most frequent contributors (no, not Tango) has two and he gets away with it.

Why the difference?

Multiple accounts are not the issue; it's what you do with them that matters.

There are a few vendors on TMP that keep their personal and business accounts separate, in order to create some space between their business dealings and their personal opinions. I understand that, even though I don't do so myself.

What I don't understand is the chain of logic that leads someone to think it would be a good idea to use a second account to attempt to undermine a competitor's business.

How often do you compare URLs. I can think of at least two other sock puppets

We don't like to discuss our methods publicly, for obvious reasons.

What I don't understand is the chain of logic that leads someone to think it would be a good idea to use a second account to attempt to undermine a competitor's business.

My problem is I completely understand that chain of logic … :)

138, if you're talking about the OFM and myself, we have never used multiple accounts to deceive or attack. It's just because one account is on the pc and the other in the cell phone.
The fact that everyone knows our "secret" shows how deceptive it is.

Once or twice, we've each voted in silly polls…..
