Those bring joy to my heart, and a desire to hit the dollar store on my lunch break.

These look very, very, very similar to Privateer Press's Blighted Ogruns…

Anyone seen these stateside?

Dean AKI23 Aug 2017 2:56 a.m. PST

@Palewarrior: this was pointed out elsewhere; they are almost certainly copied from the three-ups or otherwise pantographed in China. I don't know much about Privateer Press but if their products are manufactured in China it'd be no surprise if they got cloned.

I think on legal grounds as these are a different scale and poseable, not specifically targeting the same market, not in principle usable in the same game, and with a limited range of modifications; they are probably safe from copyright infringement – in the letter of the law if not the spirit. Plus, good luck tracking down the manufacturer in any case. I doubt PP would deem it worth their time (GW would, but these companies probably know this).

That aside @ Private Snafu, I may have the packaging in the recycling; it might be possible to dig it out and get a snap…

You are only about 20 miles away. Where did you buy then from and are they still in the store?

SultanSevy23 Aug 2017 5:07 p.m. PST

Neat and nicely done!

Redroom23 Aug 2017 5:48 p.m. PST

nice work

Dean AKI25 Aug 2017 3:09 a.m. PST

@gbowen, IIRC it was Home Bargains; others have said they've found them in Poundworld. Mainly it's a case of getting out and looking, a bit of luck too.

Thanks for the heads-up. Picked up half-a-dozen in Poundworld (Bracknell); they had plenty more grin.
