I would be interested in hearing about the largest SG1 game that anyone has played and also what rules were used for anything more than a skirmish.

When the Stargate figures were going OOP, I fear I may have over-indulged and probably have enough Jaffa to take over an entire planet!

I have never heard of any rules for Stargate that were not skirmish.
The largest game I did was about 100 figures…

There were more Jaffa and SG teams than on this picture…!

I was building a 15mm Gould army using the figures from GZG using Gruntz 15mm.
…until the fellows playing it moved on…

A friend and I put on a SG-1 game using Fubar in 15mm. About 80 figures if I remember correctly.

any suggestions for ratio of Jaffa to SG Teams?

In my own (free) Stargate skirmish rules link – I tend to think a 5:1 ratio Jaffa to SG works ok!

Looking at the pic above and thinking, "Why isn't there a TSATF variant for Stargate?"

One that seems to work rather well for it is Rogue Stars, it just seems to work for it.

From what I remember of the show, the SG team was pretty small. The movie only had what, a squad or so of troops?

So I really can't recommend any game that isn't skirmish.

Might be able to shift to something like Flames of War multibasing, with the SG team in buddy pairs and the Jaffa on larger bases. But by TMP standards, that's still a skirmish since it's 1:1 models:troops.

I have seen some big Starguard Games in my day (big being upwards of 100 figures or more. But the game tends to bog down unless there is a large area to play in, i.e. multiple tables and lots of experienced players. I have one customer who has well over 100 Dreenoi, but I suspect he is is more of a Diorama builder.
