So I am new to Team Yankee. Was looking forward to the release of the plastic Soviet infantry. Just scrolling through the TY website and noticed that for reasons beyond FoW's control, the plastic Soviet infantry release is delayed until November…

I get it. Things happen.

But, I am on a timeline to get Soviets done for a group game. Are the metal figures decent enough to work with? I don't need a ton. Probably a platoon or two.

Let me know your thoughts…

Khursan Miniatures. They are also on Facebook.

Khurasan are excellent sculpts, but taller than most lines. Closer to 18mm

Peter Pigs AK47, line while not Soviet may also work.

Odzial Osmy Poles are good too.

Are the FoW line of figures decent enough? I already have the plastic tanks box set from FoW so I am worried as to how Khurasan will fit alongside them…

Khurasan's are excellent but larger sculpts as noted above. The BF metal range is also great, just get those and you'll be fine.

Give ebay a shot or the war store. Also try noble knight games. I've dealt with noble knight for many years and they are excellent.

I like the Battlefront figures. They do look nice when painted up.

There are some minor flash and molding line issue, but itīs nothing that a hobby knife and a file canīt cure. I have a full company myself and I like them.

Battlefront are great. I snatched up a company box before they went out of production because I knew I would dislike the plastic models. Plastic just feels so lightweight and insubstantial to me.

Got a good number of the metal figs for a pair of fair-sized companies.

Unfortunately the latest batch of TY Soviet Infantry was rather poor. It takes quite a bit of effort to clean the flash and excess metal off the figures. The figures tend to break off the base and the RPG warhead is somewhat flimsy. So be careful to clean the BF figures. As for the Khurasan figures they are a bit tall but the will mix well with the Soviet figures.

My understanding is the TY molds are spent and they need to make new molds.

Peter pig syrians also can work for russians. they are less bulky than BF but as long as they are not mixed on the same base work well enough.
