"The nail left bruising and a nail-sized hole." What other sized hole would it possibly leave?

There was a New York baker a few years ago shot four times with a .22 in a mugging who went into work, got the ovens on and the baking started and then sought medical attention.

Of course, this was one of those times in New York's history during which, if you stopped work because you were mugged, you'd never get anything done.

Actually, 22nd, lots of things leave bigger holes than the projectile. Check the colonial and pulp boards.

Total Bleeped text IMO…

1st … Negligent Discharge with a nailgun

2nd … drove 12 miles … coulda wiped out a family if he'd passed out / died at the wheel

Tough? Undeniably
Dumb? Totally

It's still an incredibly dumb thing to print.

As the man didn't know just how serious it was, calling him dumb is rather uncalled for.

Aside from that, while he certainly displayed toughness, isn't this what you do if you are alone when something like this happens?

Stryderg16 Aug 2017 2:31 p.m. PST

Hardly, if you are alone when this happens, you get some dirt, spit on it, use it to stop the bleeding and get back to work. Unless you are like me, in which case you curl into a fetal position and whimper a bit. But not too much as that might be viewed as complaining.

A 3-inch nail, but 2 inches of it are sticking out of his body. He must have a huge heart then.

No, I meant that the "nail-sized hole" remark was dumb.

goragrad17 Aug 2017 1:06 p.m. PST

Cacique – one inch was sticking out, not two.

Considering that I read that there are a number of points on the body where a two inch thrust can kill, a serious threat.

Good thing it was a nail rather than something larger.

P.S. Beast Rampant the dumb remark was made by Gravitas about the man's drive to the hospital.
