Pulp Figures is going to release a new set of Mexican troops for the 28mm federal forces. These miniatures will be on sale at NorthStar.

Just to reiterate my comments from a previous thread:

Good: very nice, chunky, characterful sculpts as usual, perfect for small scale skirmish games and pulp adventures.

Bad: not suited to creating convincing units for larger games due to incongruous, unhistorical combinations of rifle and bandolier (figures with Mausers should have clip or pouch bandoliers), and mixed weaponry within the pack (federal units would be armed with one model of rifle for logistical reasons, mostly Mausers. The Winchester wasn't issued to regular infantry units because of its short range, low-powered projectile, and lack of a bayonet. Regular cavalry, and rurales, carried the Mauser 95 carbine). Also, it would look odd to have a fifth of your infantry permanently engaging low-flying aircraft.

BTW Tango, despite the phenomenon of the Zapata western, in TMP terms early 20th century Mexico really falls outside the Old West bracket.

I doubt the Federales were so uniformly equipped as you imagine, either weapons or uniforms. And the artillery were a mixture of calibers too.

Well, katnmoose, I've viewed a LOT of period photos over the years, and although dress is sometimes very un-uniform, I can honestly say that every Federal unit has been uniformly equipped when it comes to armament… including artillery units. For it to be otherwise would have made for a logistical nightmare. And I've never seen a photo of a suicidal federal ranker whose personal ammunition supply didn't match his rifle.
