The russian pikes were very good. Made of excellent russian oak. Same wood the British made their superior ships of the line.
True story!

good idea with the hands. I like that on the Footsore Romans, so a thumbs up from me. I wish more manufacturers would do the same….

so, how many Russian Pikemen to a battalion and where should they deploy? :)

nd any more of those nice PDFs on the horizon?

Number of pikes and their deployment is unclear?

But I think 1/5 pikes (when they had pikes)

In 1708 one half of the front line was to be armed with a pike, every other man in the line. There were four lines. Therefore, one in eight.

Yes indeed, on the pdf front a healthy 16 are written and just waiting for illos to go in. Covering many more dimensions of the war in Ireland plus the beginning of a GNW series…
The War of Three Kings is now just getting finished off so pdfs after that.

yah! More PDFs! :)

Thanks DBF/Gunfreak. I've heard of the 1/2 the Front line bit before and that the rear rank were pike. I've not read any confirmation of this though. Could either of you point me in the direction of a source?
