Hello Folks,
I've mentioned before I'm planning a large Spade Hulk game based around the storming of 'The Vengeful Spirit' at the climax of the Horus Heresy. The Emperor, (Space Jesus), Sanguinius, (Fabulous, daaaaarling), Rogal Dorn, (Castles, I like castles!) lead elements of the Blood Angels, Imperial Fists, and assorted Imperial Guard, against Horus Lupercal, (the arch-traitor) and his Thousand sun Terminators, ships crew, assorted Gribblies, deamons, bad language, etc.
Now, and this is a very open-ended question, I have some ideas for stats for the Primarchs, and the Emp'rah, but, I'm seeking advice on special abilities for them, make them suitably 'epic'! Sanguinius, for instance, had a gift of foesight, so he may be able to look at Space Hulk 'blips' before they deploy, etc. Soooooo, 'Primarch nerds' any help?
I'll be using the original Hulk physic cards, maybe custom cards to reflect each Primarch?
Anyway, any help will be gratefully recieved, and shamelessly stolen! thanks in advance

John

"and his Thousand sun Terminators"…

I'm pretty sure he was accompanied by his Justaerin Terminator bodyguards if I'm not mistaken. Oh, and multi-meltas on terminators = insta goo opponents. He'd probably have his Reaver attack squads as well.

Nice figures, One thing, would it be Thousands sons? or Sons of Horus/Luna Wolves on the ship? Im presuming the Luna Wolves were fully Sons of Horus by now.

I have all the Space Hulk weapon stats, and yes, multi meltas are very evil!

Thousand Sons were a different chapter altogether and I don't think they had anything to do with the Siege of Terra. Luna Wolves became Sons of Horus after he became warmaster so about 50 years or so beforehand.

For Horus much anything from the legion era space marines (including radioactive, biological, and chemical specialist squads, gravity guns, boarding shields, and the like), imperial guard, solar auxilia (elite imperial guard with hardsuits specializing in shipboard combat), tech priests, and demons are probably fair game for use for Horus.

Maybe small elements of the World Eaters, Deathguard, Alpha Legion, and Word Bearers.

For the Emperor you have the 'Fists, Blood Angels (maybe some close to berzerking from the black rage?), possibly the White Scars and Jaghatai Khan, Legio Custodes, Sisters of Silence, Imperial Guard, and Solar Auxilia.

Wolfgang's got it right. Horus would be accompanied by his Sons of Horus, and the Emperor would have the Blood Angels, Legio Custodes and Sisters of Silence (the black rage was a symptom of flawed geneseed and Sanguinius' death, I don't think there were any manifestations prior to that climactic event). Maybe small elements from the others stated, but I think they were more involved with the actual siege of the Imperial palace.

About the black rage, I thought I read on one of the wikis that some Blood Angels succumbed beforehand as an 'echo' of the upcoming event. I could be wrong.

This is all great stuff, thanks. Sons of Horus, of course, the clues in the name!
I have a load of the old late-eighties Imperial Army figures, before they were even 'Guard' so I'll use those, I like the idea of small detachements of Sisters, and the like. I have painted up some of the plastic Chaos Cultists, which will become Horus ships crew, with basic hand weapons, etc, lovely figures.
As far as the Terminators go, I'm keeping it 'old school' and using loadsa the original Terminator metal figures, Imperial and Chaos, again from the late Eighties, which I have kicking around. Painted up about 30 each of Blood Angels, and Imperial Fists. Done the Emperor, plus Custodes, Rogal Dorn, and Sanguinius, converted figures from Kabuki, and Scibor.Plus the great Forgeworld Horus figure, rebased on a Space Hulk mesh affair.
Now, the hard part for me, as I mentioned, is Space Hulk rules for Primarchs, and the bloody Emprah!?! the Hulk is quite fast play, and not complicated, so ways to make them tough, playable, and individual? I'm using First Ed Space Hulk, with the physic card system.
Thanks again, I'm enjoying reading peoples thoughts!

You got me there, I dunno anything about converting the rules.

However if you have the time/inclination these guys could be useful: link
