link News from Forge World open day.
I'm pretty excited about it. I have a few gangs from back in the day. Hopefully this will spark more interest in the games. It certainly is a cheap and easy way to get into a GW game.

Oh, spit. Dang And I thought I was far enough away. Still time for them to screw it up, so I may yet escape unscathed. And now I clicked the link. Dang. Escher in the box too! Or will we see gang boxes with rules? |

link There's a note in the comments that it will be a brand new game based on 8th edition and not just a Shadow War extension |

The figures also look to be upscaled so they wont match your old figures if that sort of thing bothers you. I'll just roll with it. Not everyone is the same size. |

Looks like my Inquisitor will be getting some reinforcements from the Underhive! |
PzGeneral | 13 Aug 2017 9:43 a.m. PST |
"Realsies"…..yeah. As opposed to "faultsies"….. |
nvdoyle | 13 Aug 2017 10:32 a.m. PST |
If those Escher are on standard 25mm bases, the size should be just fine. |
Twoball Cane | 13 Aug 2017 12:07 p.m. PST |
Holy Moses ! I stopped buying gw when they abandoned this game….I'm back!!!! Can't wait to give them my money….. I've got a lot of hexagon mill terrain among others….tables going to be sweet. Best news all day ! Thanks for posting. |
Xintao | 13 Aug 2017 1:39 p.m. PST |
I was looking forward to this, but now I'm not so sure. If they are the new super-sized figures, I'm out. Xin |
haywire | 13 Aug 2017 2:26 p.m. PST |
The bases look new. They do not look like the Sector Mechanicus or Imperialis bases. I think they are going to keep the new scale so that they can work with the new Shadow War Terrain. |
Grimmnar | 13 Aug 2017 2:53 p.m. PST |
And too bad they decided to make the models bigger in scale. Dang shame. Grimm |
Moonbeast | 13 Aug 2017 3:03 p.m. PST |
You can buy 32mm round bases (with and without slotts)off of e-bay by the bag load. Just use your old Necromunda figs as juves, problem solved. |

Yeah – I'm in. So it's a gang skirmish game but 8th Edition, not SW:A? How's that work? Isn't 8E for larger battles? |
wolfgangbrooks | 13 Aug 2017 5:24 p.m. PST |
What's with the insistance that there's a new "super-sized" scale? That was just for the Primaris Marines. |
The H Man | 14 Aug 2017 1:17 a.m. PST |
Yeah, that's what they want you to think, Wolfgang. |
nvdoyle | 14 Aug 2017 3:45 a.m. PST |
link Most important takeaway: "the guys there were very happy to share some great info: The scale will pretty much match the old miniatures – the Escher ladies might be a bit taller but only because they can model heels now which they couldn't do in metal all those years ago. The game will continue to get support – this won't just be a boxed game release. The rules will be unique and defined, but will match 8th Edition in many ways." |
The H Man | 14 Aug 2017 5:57 a.m. PST |
So mad Donna really was just a wet dream after all. I am shocked. Besides which flats seem logical in the under hive, as much as I like heels. GW promises support, we shall see… |
The H Man | 14 Aug 2017 6:02 a.m. PST |
The terrain is what I want to see. |
Xintao | 14 Aug 2017 6:20 a.m. PST |
I've read on Facebook that the terrain will be the Shadow War terrain. Some reason like Specialist games don't have enough budget for its own terrain. |
Pizzagrenadier | 14 Aug 2017 6:21 a.m. PST |
I'm all in. I've been told by someone on the inside that it will follow the Blood Bowl release style. So that means more gangs. Can't wait for the Delaques… |
The Beast Rampant | 14 Aug 2017 2:39 p.m. PST |
The Golith's look MUCH better. The originals were pretty uninspired-looking. I love the…revolver-shotgun? Maybe now we can get Cawdor gangers with ing close-combat weapons. For the life of me, I could never figure why GW went through a long, dreadful phase of metal minis with plastic arms and weapons, but then STOPPED virtually the instant Necromunda came out. |
The H Man | 14 Aug 2017 7:46 p.m. PST |
Hope to see rat skins, scavvies and, I guess redemptionists and spyres early on. plastic arms would have been good, but with each gang being unique they would need lots of arms. Separate hands like the nomads would have been OK. Hope they get a release. Any other gangs I'm missing? |
Grimmnar | 14 Aug 2017 8:15 p.m. PST |
Moonbeast – it isn't a vase thing. Wolfgangbrooks – yes, this is what I am referring to. Nvdoyle – nope, the figs are noticing bigger. Same they did for Silver Tower and Blood Bowl. Compare the previous and current Death Roller for example. There was no need to supersize the minis. It's a real shame. Grimm |
The Beast Rampant | 14 Aug 2017 10:16 p.m. PST |
Most of the time, cast-on arms were fine, they could have had plastic hands with weapons. The mini itself would just have to be dedicated "rifle" or "two hand weapons of some sort". No need to make EVERYBODY completely universal. But, whatever. The new stuff is pretty, but I will still field the old stuff. Hopefully, all their awful die rolls were used up last millennium. |
Centurio Prime | 15 Aug 2017 4:50 a.m. PST |
Ash Waste Nomads and enforcers had interchangeable weapons, which was nice. |

I hope they come out with Spyrers for it. I never got them the first time around and they seemed like they would be a really cool gang for odd games. |
The H Man | 15 Aug 2017 10:35 p.m. PST |
I wonder if the likes of inquisition and orks may show up. Necrons could beam in the odd extermination squad (or is that termination… that could actually be quite a cool gang, long ranged beam in, unable to beam them selves out again. They can make scarab from junk and robotise captured enemy to fight with them, eventually becoming new warriors. Sweet.) And genestealer cults… Chaos cults. I think they had rules. Kroot mercenary gang!!! Surly they could get in, off some transport or other. |

If anyone is interested in acquiring old Necromunda minis, contact me at Seattlered (at) aol (dot) com. Let me know what you are looking for. Back int he day I bought a lot of extra gang boxes, with the idea to do a lot of modelling, so gangs could have weapons other than the original sculpts. Most of those boxes are unused, as interest in Necromunda started to wane,a nd folks moved on to other games. Pity, as I really loved Necromunda. Anyway, I've had these figures (and a ton of terrain) stored in boxes, and it is time for me to seriously start to sell off some of my stuff. I turn 59 this month, and I'm thinking if it hasn't been played in 10 years, time to let it go. |
