The Starfighter Dice have been engraved and orders that included only unpainted dice have been sent off or will be soon. Thank you to everyone who pre-orderd.

Painting the dice takes time and I am getting better at it but it will still take at least a few weeks to get all those pips painted and orders sent out. I am processing orders in the sequence in which they were received to be as fair as possible but if you really need your order soon, let me know.

Here is a pic of a portion of an order that has been painted

I did have extra dice engraved so you can still order dice if you missed out on the pre-order. Prices are still the same at this point but as I go through all the pre-orders and painting, that may change.

For more information about Starfighter Dice and how they work both as dice and as counters plus how to order them go to

I'm going to try my hand at the painting; sounds simple enough even for a dweeb like me. ;->=

Figure, after in my hand, I'll prolly relieve you of more, Dean. Anyone else, snooze = lose. ;->=

Doug, your order will be mailed out tomorrow the 17th.

After painting a bunch of these over the last week, I have some more tips on painting the pips beyond the video on the Starfighter Dice site.
I now am using just the extra fine tip paint pens and they are all oil-based – they do cost a bit more than the inexpensive water based paint pens but the extra fine tip give so much more control to just paint the engraved pip so there a whole lot less extra paint on the face of the die so clean up is a lot quicker and less messy.

The old-based pens also have better color intensity on the black dice for the lighter colors.

My process is fill the pips with paint on one side, immediately rub the die on some clean paper to get the excess paint off, set aside and do another die in an assembly format doing a bunch at a time.

If there is some paint on the flat that just does not want to come off the flat of the die when rubbing it on paper, a used dryer sheet works great to buff it off instead of paper after the paint has dried a bit.

I already figured some out, have some oil ones in hand, mostly fine or better, but definitely worth the points.

Oh, I may be on the road before they arrive, so no news is NOT bad news. ;->=
