>Hmm…looks a little underfed to me

Nope, it's just for 1813!

Representative of the cartoonish French cavalry during the campaign…..

I love his shako shape. I am convinced the conical look came much later and I have huge doubts that even the shako rouleau was a pure cylinder, as usually shown and modelled. look at Marbot's in La M de L'Armee

Redcurrant09 Aug 2017 2:22 p.m. PST

Between Sho and AB it looks like my French Guard cavalry are going to get a couple of extra regiments.

Look forward to seeing the finished figures.

John Baxter09 Aug 2017 4:52 p.m. PST

When do you think these will be available Sho?
John

alan in canberra09 Aug 2017 5:04 p.m. PST

Coincidentally, I just finished painting the Boki Krakus cavalry last night. If these are anything like those, another order is looming…. Regards Alan

alan in canberra09 Aug 2017 5:07 p.m. PST

Boki was this the unit issued with lances? Alan

Sho Boki Sponsoring Member of TMP09 Aug 2017 5:46 p.m. PST

Redcurrant, interesting is, that only couple of hours before news about AB new figs appeared here, I was commissioned to sculpt and produce Guard Gendarmes also.
So now I must hurry up to produce these before AB, because I avoid to sculpt items wich already are in AB ranges. ;-)
---
As soon as possible, John. Couple of months.
---
Alan, do you show us painted Krakus?

Only half of men haved lances, as usual.
Commissioner ordered three troopers with empty hands in patrol poses, so he may add separate lances.
Like this pose..

Other poses I do with lances or swords in hands. And may be one with musketon too.
In set will be officer, trumpeter and 7-8 troopers.

Lances but no pennants and very simple horse furniture. Swords for rear rank

Dr Jeckyll10 Aug 2017 10:41 a.m. PST

Sho, this will be awsome, I am sure they will!!;) Look forward to seeing the progress!!!

Sho Boki Sponsoring Member of TMP11 Aug 2017 3:18 a.m. PST

Doll is ready for moulding..

von Winterfeldt12 Aug 2017 12:07 a.m. PST

the dolly looks very nice, but take a look how the stirrups and stirup straps were constructed, and or look how AB accomplished in great detail this piece of tack.

alan in canberra12 Aug 2017 1:42 a.m. PST

Sho Re the Krakus. I will borrow a camera once they are based. If you are looking for subjects there are no good 15/18mm models of the Guard Mamelukes (1807-13 uniform) nor the Lithuanian Tartars of the Guard, both of which would be useful and unique additions to your range. Regards Alan

Sho Boki Sponsoring Member of TMP13 Aug 2017 5:29 a.m. PST

Von Winterfeldt, you are damn right, thanks! I get my eclaireurs stirrup images from wrong source. All other sources shows another look.
Doll already is in mould matrix, but fortunately face up, so I will investigate, what I can do..

Sho Boki Sponsoring Member of TMP13 Aug 2017 8:11 a.m. PST

Now better?

Alan. Yes, I am happy to sculpt those orient ones after current projects, especially when someone helps and order to sculpt some poses of them.

von Winterfeldt13 Aug 2017 8:13 a.m. PST

yes, see also my mail sent directly to you with attached immages

Sho Boki Sponsoring Member of TMP14 Aug 2017 2:54 a.m. PST

Yes, I get this, thanks!
As there still are space for another doll in mould, I will create another light cavalry doll with proper stirrups.

Sho Boki Sponsoring Member of TMP21 Aug 2017 7:24 a.m. PST

Doll casted, and some action dolls also..

Sho Boki Sponsoring Member of TMP22 Aug 2017 12:58 p.m. PST

von Winterfeldt22 Aug 2017 1:55 p.m. PST

Sho Boki Sponsoring Member of TMP24 Aug 2017 7:30 a.m. PST

I hope so (like on page 33 in Osprey 433 MAA), but this particular trooper on photo will be with empty hand.

These look great! Looking forward to them.

Dr Jeckyll30 Sep 2017 10:32 a.m. PST

Lovely Sho!! The officer is in the exact pose I was hoping for!! They are scouting ahead of the guard cavalry, and there! Some horsmen through the mist on the other side of that field! Sacre bleu! They look like cossacks!!Could it be Bluchers Vanguard!?;) I am looking forward to seeing them done:)!!

Sho Boki Sponsoring Member of TMP01 Oct 2017 4:00 a.m. PST

Thanks! :-)
Next Eclaireur ready, in overcoat..

Yesss!! Wonderful!!8-)

Personal logo deadhead Supporting Member of TMP01 Oct 2017 12:05 p.m. PST

The caped great coat is a look I would love to see in TOTS (The One True Scale) ……. 28mm.

At rest like yours, though. I always thought without heads, to allow conversion into almost any unit, allowing for differing footwear. But I simply love your high collar. They indeed look like they are in a Winter campaign.

I cannot help but think of these, with a Czapka, as Polish Guard cavalry too.

Art15 Oct 2017 10:16 a.m. PST

The figures are great!!!

But I cant change scales now…and I would love to buy these figures in 28mm !!!

Best Regards
Art

Dr Jeckyll15 Oct 2017 4:53 p.m. PST

Fantastic Sho! I am looking so much forward to seeing the fruits of this project!!!

Sho Boki Sponsoring Member of TMP16 Oct 2017 2:49 a.m. PST

Like Deadhead, I may say – there are only TTTS (The Two True Scales) 1:100 and 1:200.. ;-)
So I am sorry, I am not able to sculpt and produce in 28mm :-(

Art16 Oct 2017 4:19 a.m. PST

I would compromise with 25mm ;-)

Best Regards
Art

If I may…do you do anything other than the Napoleonic era?

Sho Boki Sponsoring Member of TMP16 Oct 2017 5:27 a.m. PST

Yes, I do anything before Napoleonic too.. but probably not after Napoleonic. History ends with Waterloo.
I was commissioned to do Muscovites for example.
