"Firefly Adventures: Brigands & Browncoats puts you and your friends in the roles of the Serenity Crew as they face vicious outlaws and desperate gunslingers while trying to get the job done. We'll be running full games in the Events Hall at Gen Con and demo games at our booth. Be sure to mosey over and join the crew for some thrillin' heroics"

Hmm. I don't much care for the large figures and terrain.

But maybe, if the rules and cards are worth the purchase, they could be salvaged for use with figures and terrain of smaller scales, like 15mm. Of course, the large scale content could be sold on ebay to recoup some of the cost. :)

Looks to me like they wanted big figures since realistically about half the customers would be buying this just to paint the Serenity crew to put up on a shelf.

If that's the case, buying the boxed sets to sell the figures separately would be an excellent idea.

Are the figures in the 28mm-32mm scale common to the CoolMini type games that are popular?

Cacique Caribe09 Aug 2017 9:41 p.m. PST

Nothing here:

fireflythegame.com

And I don't see any definitive info on the size of the figures on Boardgamegeek either. Just speculations and comments like "around 28mm", which could mean anything these days.

From the pic above, they look to be about 3 dice tall (IF you can figure out how big the dice are… ;-) Hey, I just invented a new figure 'scale'! LOL

Would those be 16mm or 22mm dice? ;-)

RTJEBADIA10 Aug 2017 8:39 p.m. PST

I think those look like pretty standard ~1cm dice, and those look like 28mm firefly figs. Which is good, cause 15mm already has 2 good sets of the crew of Serenity, and a lot of stand-in and npc-appropriate minis, while 28mm is (ironically) not so well served.

It will be nice if they are 28mm. I have the various 28mm proxies, but nothing like the real thing. I aim to misbehave!
