In the latest show, she called Jon a King, and Jon referred to her as "The Queen". Perhaps in that cave, he did bend the knee to her. Interestingly, Caitlyn's negotiations with Renly had Rob calling himself King in the North, but pledging fealty to Renly. Errr, that fell apart and all the witnesses are dead, but still. In another precedent, Jon bent the knee to Ygritte in another cave. Both knees. |

It'll happen in episode 6 or 7 before the wall gets taken down by an undead dragon .. :-( |

A marriage and alliance would make more sense. The couple could move back and forth between King's Landing and Winterfell every 3 months or so. I'm still waiting for the scene where Jon has to confront a living dragon. |

I think Jon eventually would bend the knee, but I bet some sort of plot development will intervene before he does, |
mandt2 | 08 Aug 2017 11:29 p.m. PST |
IIRC, back in Mereen Dany said something about marriage for geo-political reasons was a part of her plans. Still, I would be kind of surprised that a "…and they all lived happily ever after" marriage event such as this will happen. It just doesn't feel like Martin. |
Mr Elmo | 09 Aug 2017 3:40 a.m. PST |
No, he's going to marry her and two Targaerians will rule the Iron Kingdoms |
Dynaman8789 | 09 Aug 2017 3:50 a.m. PST |
I'm still not sure Jon is a Targarian, he has Baratheon hair and I don't believe they have actually shown who the father is yet. I'm guessing the big gotcha reveal is that Robert is the father and his mother was being hidden away to keep anyone from knowing – so the whole war started as a lie. |
Winston Smith | 09 Aug 2017 6:40 a.m. PST |
Why would 2 Kingsguard (3 in the books) be guarding Lyanna from Robert if he were the father? And why would Ned claim to be the father if Robert had so many bastards around it took his Hand to track them all down? No. That makes no sense. The only reason Jon has black hair is because Kit Harrington has black hair. |
Dynaman8789 | 09 Aug 2017 7:05 a.m. PST |
> Why would 2 Kingsguard (3 in the books) be guarding Lyanna from Robert if he were the father? Yup, doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but neither does the hair. Even more so after all the "The blood is strong" stuff. |
Winston Smith | 09 Aug 2017 8:45 a.m. PST |
"The seed is strong" applies to Baratheon blood and hair. There have been plenty of Targaryeans with dark hair. See: link |
The Beast Rampant | 09 Aug 2017 9:08 a.m. PST |
It just doesn't feel like Martin. Who's to say what is "Martin" anymore? If he actually had all this worked out, why wouldn't he just finish the damned series already? Or maybe one more book this decade? Emelia Clark doesn't have platinum hair. And Conleth Hill isn't bald (but in fact, has sort of platinum hair himself? Hmmm…) Even if ALL Targs had such hair, that would make this all too easy. At this point, the original OFM theory is all that really fits, without pulling something truly silly out of their backsides, which they aren't going to do. That's just what Martin will HAVE to do when he is forced to retcon all this to keep his ever-forthcoming series relevant. Otherwise, he can just pay Allen Dean Foster to pen the novel adaptation of the HBO series. With eight full-color pages featuring shots from the movie in the center. |
Earl of the North | 09 Aug 2017 9:22 a.m. PST |
John being hidden by Ned makes sense since Robert's side was actively killing the Targarian children at the time, not so much Robert's bastard. Also a lot of the Starks have black hair (including Ned's sister) so not really a Baratheon hair thing, which I believe was more to point out that all of Robert's kids, except for Cersei's brood had his black hair rather claiming that everybody with black hair was fathered by Robert…….although he did put it about a lot. |
Dynaman8789 | 09 Aug 2017 9:38 a.m. PST |
You will all see I'm right in a little over a year… |
Earl of the North | 09 Aug 2017 10:40 a.m. PST |
Seems unlikely since Ned Sister was taken before she could wed Robert by the Targarians, causing the war (along with the actions of the mad king). It doesn't really change the reasons for the war. John being Robert's bastard wouldn't really mean anything at this point and adds little if anything to the story. |

Lyanna really wanted to be with The Targarian but had a fling with Robert Barratheon, when she got pregnant Robert knew what would happen when the King found out and started the war. If the show or books say anything different it is only due to GrrM getting scared that I just let the cat out of the bag… |

Why would 2 Kingsguard (3 in the books) be guarding Lyanna from Robert if he were the father? Because Robert Raped her after a drunken rage. So she went to Rhaegar for protection and Ser Arthur Dayne would die before dishonoring Rhaegar. So Rhaegar did not abduct Lyanna, she went of her own accord to him. She then made her brother promise to not to tell anyone about what happen. Which Ned being honorable as well did and which is why he stayed in the North instead of going down to Kings Landing. |
Winston Smith | 10 Aug 2017 2:54 p.m. PST |
In the books, Jon has brown Stark-ish hair. He looks like Arya who looks like Lyanna. If "the seed is strong", Jon would have black hair. Whether or not Kit Harrington has black hair is irrelevant. People are claiming Meera Reed is Jon's twin sister because the actress has dark curly hair, like Kit. |

People are claiming Meera Reed is Jon's twin sister because the actress has dark curly hair, like Kit. Well, that certainly makes you think. Are Sam Tarley and Hot Pie related, too? |
Earl of the North | 11 Aug 2017 1:22 a.m. PST |
Yes, EVERYBODY with dark hair in Westeros was fathered by Robert….also everybody with blond hair is a Lannister and everybody with white hair is a Targarian. |

Earl of the North | 12 Aug 2017 3:53 p.m. PST |
If the latest rumour going round is true there is a legal male Targarian heir. Which would knock Dany back from her claim to be the rightful queen. |
Dynaman8789 | 12 Aug 2017 6:21 p.m. PST |
Till Drogon eats said heir. |

Bob Runnicles | 15 Aug 2017 6:45 a.m. PST |
I was a little surprised to see Randall Tarly still alive – I could have sworn I'd seen him burned to a crisp the previous week. Must have just been another random bald man on a horse. Yes, shame about Dickon, he seemed an okay guy. |
