I'm looking for a easy play set of WW2 rules, and plumped for Mongoose publishing's VAS – only to fine they are currently available only as a computer game…

Suggestions on their forum amount to an imminent Version 2 release – imminent since about 2015 it would seem…

Any relevant scuttlebutt?

The current excuse is that Mongoose is still trying to find someone to make a line of miniatures to go with the rules. There are a number of fallback excuses as well.

Mongoose has a short attention span!

Last I heard it was still in development. Which hopefully means the loooong lead time might mean fewer typos and mistakes. The last supplement from them was terribly disappointing in that respect. And I like the system! Fun to play.

That said, why do you say it is only available as a computer game? You can still buy the entire range of books and supplements.

Thanks Tony but I don't do electric string stuff – I want a solid, honest to goodness rulebook in my hand!

I hear you! I always print and bind my pdfs at Staples. I've grown to liking pdfs, since I can always make a hardcopy, but can also print out relevant bits, or army lists, or scenarios or make up my own QRS, as well as avoiding the appallingly high USPS rates.
