On the fringes of the main armies constant skirmishing occurs, we fought out a small action from the Nine Years War using Pikemans Lament, jolly good fun and a real nail-biter.

I always love your posts.. in part it's that building in the photo at the top of your blog. Whenever I need a visual for making stone walls I come looking for your blog.

Thank you for your kind words.

The funny part about that fort is that when it was in Spanish service it was covered in white plaster with red trim so that none of the stonework showed. I built a model of the fort a little while ago link here link
