I could do with some reference material for Canadian forces in NW Europe – ORBATS and vehicle markings in particular.

Can you suggest any, please? Online would be nice, but I would be prepared to actually buy a book.

Here are a couple of references to try. The official history of the Army is also available on-line, via the Department of National Defence's Directorate of History and Heritage, at this link (which is the pdf of the originally published volume):

Micro Armor ( ghqmodels.com/store/mg3.html ) has a supplement to their rules that has good OOBs and about a dozen scenarios. About 40 pages. Written from the point that one stand/model is a platoon.

I have a copy and thinks it pretty well done, though the I have only read the book and not played any of the scenarios.

The Canadian Soldier in World War II: From D-Day to VE-Day

And in conjunction with the MicroMark Army Lists, pdf's available at Wargame Vault:

"The Canadian Soldier in World War II: From D-Day to VE-Day " – book now on order.

I've got the two volumes on the British army in the same format and didn't know there was one on the Canadians.
