In "Le Carnet de la Sabretache" No. 404 (1947), there is reproduced a portrait of the lieutenant-général baron Joachim-Jérôme Quiot du Passage (1775-1849), attributed to the baron Antoine-Jean Gros (1771-1835).

Can some kind Colleague who has this issue please look to see if the source for the photo of the painting, or the painting's location in 1947, or any other information about it is given in the text?

Does anyone know of the location of the painting today?

Thank you in advance!

You might try contacting the Sabretache directly! They are usually very helpful. Unfortunately do not have access to my books at the moment.
Other possibilities might be to try the other user friendly French associations such as Le Briquet or Le Bivouac – their membership tends to be more specialized than TMP – and you can find all the links on the Sabretache site

Thank you, Chokidar.
By the way, Didier Davin closed up Le Bivouac about 2 years ago.

Pity! It makes you think that you must get all those journals etc. when you get a chance and not leave it for the future!!!
