… And The Old, Stone Barn, July 2, 1863.

"This diary is now fittingly back in New York at Cornell, not all that far from the Yates County homes of many who went to war in the 126th New York Regiment. It's a relic of Gettysburg, among other travels. It's 2nd owner, Richard Bassett, saw JPK Huson die, July 2nd, 1863.

It's been a long time. Finally found where JPK Huson last saw the sun, not that my uncle would have noticed it, surrounded by a murky, hot haze in early July, Adams County, Pennsylvania. Boy, it gets to you, seeing that name- then killed, after so many years searching…"
