Good job, but a rating of eight is probably to generous

Nicely painted, they all look spot on! I could be tempted myself 🖒

Such a pity the horses are so weird – I've been begging for plastic British heavy cavalry for years and would have bought hundreds.

I think you would need to, to make up a few decent units. You would need to buy many a Perry ACW cavalry box, to get reasonable horses. You would have to accept that the Household and dragoons had different lacing on the front on the coat (as indeed the box covers show, but the contents do not)….Guards did not have docked tails on their horses, they were black anyway.

This posting shows really good work on the riders (I think beats the website) and great painting of a really weird looking second horse…there are only two!

Funny that everyone, including the makers, has shown them as the Blues. Not one posting as Life Guards yet.

Too bad they aren't Early Napoleonic, 'round about 1809.

Lovely paint work here. I still cant hide my disappointment at these sets, it's still Perry Metals for me.

Here's my attempt at the 1st Lifeguards. Not quite finished as they need some tufts on the base and I might add a bit more of a highlight to the brass ( gold) areas. Working on the 2nd Lifeguards now and will review and finish basing together to try to get cohesive look.
I can understand some of the reticence regarding this set but I think that commercial decisions influenced the compromises needed to make both the sets of Heavy Cavalry available. Personally, I think that they are a great addition to the hobby and they build and paint quite well. They will look fine on the gaming table and if you dont mind plastics.

Now this is a first. Much talk about these, but only ever shown as Blues for The Household Brigade.

For some reason I cannot magnify the images, but what I see is very impressive. Well done indeed

Nice paint work, but the figures do not impress. There are better figures in metal. Tried plastics but again.. not for me.
