Work finally finished on these 20mm figures and ran the master mould a bit this morning and here are the results

thats the basic set of riflemen and NCO

the Bren team

and the Bren team deployed

the NCO from the forthcoming HQ pack next to an AB Para as a comparison.
Release date sometime in August.
Should added, they all wear the WP top, mostly with the matching trousers though some are just wearing BD trousers. Some of the figures are wearing the leather jerking underneath the WP. Some of the figures have a seperate shovel/pack combination that fits onto a pin on the back of the figure. Not keen on seperate parts ( packing nightmare) but the only way to get the shovel lying across the back.
Standard issue British 'T' handle and Canadian style handle versions provided.

Von Trinkenessen31 Jul 2017 11:02 a.m. PST

congratulations Leon on making a set of British/commonwealth infantry that are 'sexier' than the germans.
Finally allied troops that my late great uncle would be proud of..

wrgmr131 Jul 2017 11:07 a.m. PST

Wow! Great looking figures Leon!

christot31 Jul 2017 11:24 a.m. PST

Thank You Leon!
I've been waiting for someone to make a range like this …forever…and when it finally arrives, its a great one!

christot,
Well your going to be like a pig in ………….. then lol
The upcoming AB range looks handsome :) so youll have plenty to choose from fo the winter 44/45. Got to get working on my Canadian tank crews to populate my armour now.

These are very tempting…….and timely as I have expanded my WW2 collection to British '44/5 and I have no infantry……

christot02 Aug 2017 3:25 a.m. PST

Now, I know these terrific figures aren't even released yet, but are you thinking of adding to them at all?
A 2" mortar team would be brilliant!

LeonAdler Sponsoring Member of TMP02 Aug 2017 4:07 a.m. PST

christot,
Thanks.
There are three packs to be added:
PIAT team ( deployed and carried)
2" motar team ( deployed and carried)
HQ, NCO ( its the figure in the last pic)a couple of Officers and a radio operator.
Will be working on these over the summer amongst all the other stuff, never enough time…………

Thanks- thats perfect, great news.

huevans01102 Aug 2017 7:35 p.m. PST

Leon, one of the many things that impresses me with your sets is how logically organized they are. You follow the actual platoon TO&E's and that makes it easy to collect the sub units that a gamer needs to deploy!

TunnelRat03 Aug 2017 2:00 a.m. PST

Fantastic looking figures!

Any chance of a Vickers & crew being added to the 'to do' list?

christot03 Aug 2017 2:34 a.m. PST

"Any chance of a Vickers & crew being added to the 'to do' list?"

lol…aren''t us wargamers great? while you at it do some 6pdr crews, and a 17pdr..and a 3" mortar and maybe a 4.2"…some engineers would be nice, and some medics, perhaps some senior officers..and I'd like some prone riflemen, and maybe a kangeroo set, bren carier crews, obviously. What about a few casualties? and some vignettes?
and….and…and….

LeonAdler Sponsoring Member of TMP03 Aug 2017 4:17 a.m. PST

lol yes well its the same with Napoleonics………..
I think the WP restricted to frontline infantry ( any pics/references are rare) though I maybe wrong on that.
So normal BD figures will be fine for supporting troops, I have no plans to do any BD figs, there are lots of nice ones around already.

I do have an idea for one extra pack to the above but keeping that under wraps until see how sales go.

As for carrier crews I do have a reference to the 7th Armd motor batt inf wearing the pixie suit so some mounted/dismounted with infantry weapons might be fun if decidely niche.

huevans011, well seems the obvious way to do things never understood the 'army' pack concept so often used but 'real' units makes marketing a bit harder an more complicated go have a look at my Napoleonics listings lol

spontoon07 Aug 2017 3:05 p.m. PST

Very nice, but how about some figures for armies that don't exist commercially already?

LeonAdler Sponsoring Member of TMP08 Aug 2017 1:15 a.m. PST

I think theres a perfectly good economic reason for that Spontoon. I need to make money out of ranges to pay the mortgage. I did the late Brits because there wasnt much for them around at the time and I thought there was enough of a market to make a reasonable return.
The 'outliers' just dont have the sales potential to make a return I suspect, something that needs to be done by someone that deosnt need to make a return to eat or can cross subsidise from other better selling ranges.

Beautiful – I love the bren team especially.

But I can't change my mind about scale yet again!

LeonAdler Sponsoring Member of TMP08 Aug 2017 5:15 a.m. PST

Going into panto mode…………oh yes you can ! lol
Always happens you settle on a scale for a period and some sod goes and makes something in another that you want………
L

Marc at work08 Aug 2017 8:13 a.m. PST

What's all this "changing scale" nonsense? Surely everyone games WW2 in 1/72 (20mm) don't they… grin

I am guessing/hoping/assuming that these will work for Canadians – I have the GHQ guide to the Canadian contribution and I am always tempted…

donlowry08 Aug 2017 8:39 a.m. PST

Very nice looking minis, but I notice that the only prone figures are the Bren team. Didn't Brits ever hit the dirt?

christot08 Aug 2017 9:39 a.m. PST

Bren team does the firing, rifles do the movement

LeonAdler Sponsoring Member of TMP08 Aug 2017 2:29 p.m. PST

Marc at work, thats the idea. The only real difference for some Canadian troops are the so called 'invasion boots' worn notably by the 3rd Div ( I think) but its mainly Brit clobber worn by Canadians albiet with colour differences.

donlowry, would love to do the figs in 'ground hugging' poses ( its what most infantry spends its time doing when in combat zone afterall)but its not a popular pose for many wargamers, a question of economics, for Brens prone is the normal fighting stance ( a bren is not comfortable to fire on the move).
If sales fund the design time then maybe. I have a kneeling, ready to move forward Bren team half done but release will depend on sales.
Marc at work of course you are perfectly correct :)
