Added a few loyalist battalions to my armies. Picked two units from the American Establishment so they should be more British looking then the British regiments :) (no auto correct this time). The Volunteers of Ireland and New York Volunteers.

As I deviated from accepted norms in painting the VofI please visit my blog for my reasoning and sources.

What is the design on the green standard? I couldn't see a clear picture of what you used.

TIA,

They are from Flags of War. He does a conjecture flag for the Volunteers of Ireland. Has a harp, it's green and the inscription "2nd American Regiment." The flag for the New York Volunteer is from his Queens Rangers which I repainted for NYV. Since they were both on the American Establishment I "think" they would have had colors.

When I do some of the other loyalist regiments like DeLancey's I will not give them colors. Just my thinking.

Thanks. Any chance of photos showing them?

I like the way these turned out. I also don't mind the grey hats as it gives the unit something that helps it stand out from the rest of the crowds.

I would give any Loyalist formation that stood in the line Colours. Including deLancey.
Rangers or Partisan corps or Lord Dunmore's Ethiopians… probably not.

I'm not going to argue with you about the VoI. I just love those Perry figures. Like your "other" flag, I took standard green facing Colours and painted in my own harp.

Damn autocorrect. (My predictive text did it again. It gave me "autocorrect" right after I typed "damn". grin

Anyway…
I typed VoI and I meant it! Not "Vol I".

Nice!

Thank you for the kind words. I did the grey hats not only as they look good but to tell the unit apart from the other blue faced regiments.

Here is picture from the makers web page showing the flag:

An I am the last person here who will ever comment on auto correct as it ruined one of my posts!
