Occasionally someone here mentions gangsters, organized crime, etc. For gaming purposes, etc. Even some model companies make gangster figures.

Now, I did know my home town in the past had a big history of the Mafia, organized crime, etc. I remember a few cars being blown up, an occasional gunning down of someone in the street, etc. Like seen in the movies, etc.

Some times it was referred to as "Little Chicago". And even mentioned in TV shows, and in some movies. But I didn't know this :

Scorcese's Goodfellas was dedicated to Youngstown, OH.

Martin Scorcese used so many stories from the Youngstown mob in the movie that he dedicated the film to Youngstown. The tribute is evidenced at the very end of the movie, when Henry Hill picks up a newspaper off of his front porch. The newspaper is a copy of the Youngstown Vindicator.

huh?
