Capsicom did a Kickstarter for this game. Primarily a mix of minis/board game I bought in for the minis since they were cheap. After playing a couple games the system is growing on me some.

Each "Turn" you get three dice. Each player gets 9 dice.
You have three different colors, red, blue, and green. Red dice are attack dice. Blue dice are for movement. Green are for shields. Each die is a D6 with a side with a "Special" for abilities. One side with a multidirectional so you can move or fire or defend in any direction. The other four sides have two orthagonal and two diagonal sides.

You pick your dice each turn. You can save up to 2 specials for special attacks. You can also save up to two regular dice. If you save two red dice then you can only use one red die from your pool if you have it available.

So there is some strategy and risk. Like an Admiral you have to decide how to use each element of your fleet. You might get die results that won't work just like you might order a squadron of ships to advance and they can't or they move out of the ideal position. The dice add some unpredictability that is growing on me. Keeps you envisioning an Admiral trying to order his ships into certain positions and trying to outflank the enemy.

Might be something that will grow on you too.

I bought in the KS. There huge boxes are waiting to be open in my gaming room. I am a bit busy with other stuff but will open them at one point. :)

I'm in the middle of a move and have to put mine in storage, at least for the next week or two. :(

I wanted to make sure I got a game or two in first.

Backed as well, quite pleased with what I got from a production standpoint. I played the prior version of the game from the first Kickstarter, and it is fun. The combat and movement are abstracted, so don't expect Full Thrust or Starmada, but it feels more like you are an admiral, allocating orders/resources (your dice) to squadrons, and trying to envelope/flank your enemy. Thematically, it captures the title perfectly, but mechanically it's simple enough you could get non-wargamer/boardgamers to pick it up. However, while the core mechanics are simple, it is NOT a simplistic game – there is quite a bit of depth as positioning is vital, as is husbanding your die.
