Does anyone know where I can find a movie projector? I'm looking for 15mm so could use HO scale, 1/72, maybe even N scale in a pinch. I'm looking for a reel to reel type projector. I'd even be willing to try someone with an old reel to reel movie camera.

In case you are wondering, I'm trying to do a conversion to make the wizard Blackwolf from the movie Wizards.

I've had no luck on the net or at the local Hobby Town USA, so I thought I'd ask the collected wisdom of TMP for help. :)

No projectors, but I saw an old time camera that was a quarter the size of this one a while back:

It might have been a pewter charm though. It was small enough for HO/15mm. I wish I had saved that link.

It was actually a little bit like this one here:

PS. Perhaps a HO scale news crew might have the piece you need? Maybe on Shapeways?

Perhaps doll house miniatures or train accessories

Dn Jackson,

If you wanted a projector like the one shown in the Wizards movie screen caps, what would you say the dimensions would have to be be?

How big the reels?

Dan
PS. IF Blackwolf was normal human height (and I'm not sure he was) my guess would be 9-10mm total height, with reels about 3-4mm in diameter. Does that sound right to you?

There are some movie cameras in the pulp figures line. 28mm tho, not sure if it might work.

Why not scratch build? Back in the day, what you couldn't find, you made.

Some plastic sprue sliced to get the reels. Same sprue squared off, or a piece of a plastic base, to get the block shape on the projector and another blob for the lens.

Not that hard to do I'd have thought.

Exactly! Hole punch a thin piece of styrene sheet a few times. Sandwich a tiny ball of putty between two of the round punches and you have yourself a reel.

Dan,
That's perfect, thanks. The pendant is just what I was looking for. I tried the train route with no luck, and scratch building isn't my strong suite.

I already have Avatar and Elinore. these should spice up the fantasy games nicely. I plan on using this fellow, right center, for Blackwolf.
