The new Aggressors look the business. Twin powerfists with flamers or rotating cannons on them, plus possible missile pods, dare I say Y-rack, on the back. link Then there is the new dread. link This thing is just massive. I guess it would have to be to store a primaris inside it, although I'm not convinced there really has to be much left of them. It looks like the options are a plasma cannon or an assault cannon plus either a flamer or rotating cannon on the punchy arm. Then there are the Reivers. link This looks like a great kit with lots of options for these guys. They can have grav shutes, carbines, grappling hook launchers. I think this is my favourite of the kits up for pre-order this week and I'm sure I'll be getting some of them next week to bolster the three I already have. Then coming sometime soon I suspect are the multi-part primaris intercessors:
The Primaris Apothecary and Chaplain
With all the characters that come with the basic set I haven't been too keen on adding any more to my force but I'll definitely be getting that Apothecary when he comes out. An Apothecary has so much narrative potential in the game and this one is just a great model. |

Love them all so far, and I'll need the characters. The poses on the Reivers are fantastic. (And I still love the old ones – just picked up the Start Collecting Deathwatch; great deal, and my 'little' Marines still need reinforcement.) |

Will the other races get new models for 8th edition?? I have been looking at the Cadian Defence Force. |

*sigh* And I just finished painting the Battle for Vedros set for my grandsons. Those Reivers are nice. They'd be great hunting Nids, sort of a super-sized Lost Patrol kinda thing. I wonder if other factions are getting enlarged models as well. Primaris Marines dominate Ork Boyz. Looks like they're picking on ugly little green grade-schoolers. |

Doubt that Cadians are getting a resculpt, and the other factions aren't getting bigger models. The 'ugly little green grade-schoolers' bit made me laugh, though. Would love to see the Cadians get a resculpt, though – something along the lines of how the Tau hold their weapons, or the Catachans – the molded-on-gun left hands is rather limiting for conversion. The Catachan 'holding the stock and grip' was brilliant, and they should have never moved away from it. |

Take it or leave it; buy it or don't… But, either way, these are really beautiful sculpts. Nice to see new models. Poor tiny regular space marines… |

I hope they don't launch a bunch of larger sculpts for everything else. The other stuff now looks right compared to marines. I guess the Eldar should be a bit taller but also more spindly so mass wise it works out pretty well. At least marines don't look like they wouldn't stand much of a chance against a Catachan now. 8th edition would be a great chance for them to introduce a third plastic IG regiment, maybe something that has been done before or maybe something new. I'd love to see either a dress-type uniform or a great coat guardsman in plastic. Ideally it would be something you could easily convert to Prospero Spireguard. |

At least marines don't look like they wouldn't stand much of a chance against a Catachan now. That wasn't the marine's fault. The Catachans all looked like cartoon circus strong-men.
Now THERE'S your power-creep. |

"I must not look, I must not look, I must not look!" Ooops, looked. They're pretty cool. I feel the temptation demon hovering over my shoulder and starting to whisper "just one starter set, go on, you know you want to". |

Considering the direction of Shadow War, I hold out unconfirmed, and possibly unreasonable, hope that we'll see plastic Armageddon Steel Legion Guard. As for the plastic Catachans, yeah, they were a bit over the top. Had they been kept closer to the proportions of the metal sculpts, it would have been better. But I maintain that their weapon flexibility was one of the best things GW ever did, model-wise. |

Plastic Steel Legion would be nice. Guess I'll stalk ebay for Space Hulk stealers, see if those won't work with the Reivers. |
