There are some good model-making techniques on show there, but what a bizarre, misogynistic model! Not really my sort of thing…

Just creepy.

I don't really understand the whole Kingdom Death game setting, it seems to be quite complex with a lot of ritual type characters. The model itself is very well sculpted and the painting is brilliant, even if I don't comprehend the subject. Anyone play Kingdom Death?

Not really my thing, but absolutely amazing paint job.

For this one Samnite 308 and I are exactly on the same page.

I give it a B- Only because the painting is so good and clean and crisp and the modelling is also of the same, and excellent. I can't go lower than that, but at the same time It also seems the figure is somewhat like a Barbie doll which you can add parts to. The one technical part I can find complaint about is the base. I cannot see such a figure teetering on such an insecure perch.

On the other hand the symbolism is beyond me and I must admit rather disturbing when you start trying to analyze it. The Lions head, for example, does it represent a natal belly, but the mouth is at the exact place where the vagina would be and the face itself is not at all benevolent or motherly. Is the expression of the lion?? belligerent or to whom and is the thing protecting the young, devouring the young, or the young itself. And the "bustle" which reproduces the lion face..

Interesting but …..

It's not really my thing but it is hardly misogynistic in any way.

I think the lion motif is representative of her (the Mother) giving birth to a new king…I think it's rather Madonna-esq. Not the singer…

A+

Great painting, but Kingdom Death is just plain weird. Not my thing.
