Just finnished my interpretation of "Light Horse" Harry Lee's Legion from my southern campaign. Both horse and foot. Details, and reasoning for why I painted them as I did are on the blog.

Reasonable reasoning in your choices. And nice figures. Though I think I'll stick with green for mine – probably.

Winston Smith22 Jul 2017 10:30 a.m. PST

I'm afraid I take the lazy way out and use British Legion figures interchangeably.
Nobody has called me on it yet. grin
For the foot, Old Glory makes a bag. Half got the BL look, and thebithers eill be given the Troiani lavender treatment.

But I can't argue with your decision and they do look nice.

Thank you for your kind words. the great thing about taking in the Rev War period is the great unknown. There are some sources, but lots of gaps. You consult your material and make your best guess. As I said, this is my interpretation based on the sources i consulted. Could be right or wrong. Your interpretation is equally valid, and might look much better then mine!

I will say when it comes to loyalist units in the late war I agree with you. They were trying to hemorrhoids then the British. And that is how I paint thgem.

I think that the dreaded autocorrect nailed that last post. evil grin

Fritz

I like your color scheme for LL.

Winston Smith22 Jul 2017 2:08 p.m. PST

I agree with Fritz, particularly about autocorrect.

Since I have nothing better to do with my time, I may as well paint up my own Lee's Legion in your scheme. What if Lee and Ban should meet in one of my own battles?

23rdFusilier22 Jul 2017 5:05 p.m. PST

Oh dear! Yes, let's blame it on autocorrect…..😯

Early morning writer22 Jul 2017 10:33 p.m. PST

Well, autocorrect or whatever, that's the most uninterpretable oopsie I can recall ever seeing. Can we get a translation?

Winston Smith23 Jul 2017 4:54 a.m. PST

If he is agreeing with me, I have often said that Loyalists often tried to "be more British than the British".
That is quite a leap, even for autocorrect.

23rd, your figs are wonderfully painted. Thanks for sharing. Seems there always is discussion on what Lee's boys wore. I painted mine in a similar scheme to yours for no other reason than it added another distinctive color to the battlefield.
