Got any favorite manufacturers?

Thanks, Xin/Jeff

My favorite is Crescent Root (MDF---but painted and really nice). You can also get their old resin ones from Art of Wargaming, but they are unpainted.

Miniature Building Authority are nice, but pricey.

Go to Ebay and check out the seller "Tinned fruit". He has terrific 20 & 28mm M.E. Buildings that are finished for a very reasonable price. He also sells his buildings here on the TMP.
Phil is his name. I've purchased several and they are an excellent value.

Crescent Root are excellent!

You can see some pictures of them here (http://bucksurdu.com/blog/?p=5702) and here (http://bucksurdu.com/blog/?p=6134). Also actually used the for the Middle East here: bucksurdu.com/blog/?p=4718

Dare I suggest that you scratch build them? Foam Board, spackle and paint.

The Art of Wargaming are the resin ones that Crescent Root used to make. They are excellent.

Thanks all.

I'll echo the Tinned Fruit recommendation. You can then specify something that matches your own vision of what a Middle East table should look like (as there is a far greater variety in real life than what you can buy off the shelf)

considering the quality, the versality, the variety ( even an arab or FFl compound ) and above the cost i would consider this kickstar: link

unfortunatly i have no access to 3D printer and , even if i buy the sotware, a shop here in Italy that offer such printing service will charge me too much and it' be difficult to explain them what i need..i even tried to find somebody in Europe to share the cost and collaborate but to no avail

Just a comment on the miniature building authority buildings. I had all of their sets when they first came out. They are very heavy compared to other sets on the market. Also, they are designed to remove the top half of the building to make it look like it has been damaged. While this is kind of cool, the two haves don't sit too well together. The weight really was the reason I sold them off. Too heavy to keep lugging around to shows.

A comment on the Crescent Root old resin building sold by Art of War. I had to replace a lot of my buildings as I had sold some to a friend. This was around the time when Crescent Root sold the masters, molds and rights to Art of War.

The Art of War does not cast them as well as Crescent Root did. The small building needs to be cast correctly as it is used for the second floor on a lot of the two story buildings. The ones I received pushed out at the bottom, so they will not fit the second story. They are okay on their own, but the quality was just not there. Perhaps the castings are better now. All the pictures on the web site are the old pictures from Crescent Root.

I would purchase more of the original buildings if I needed, even with the casting issues, as I like the look of the terrain the best. One of the benefits of the new Crescent Root buildings is the ability to flat pack them for storage. This is a big plus when carting them from convention to convention.

These are just my observations over the past 10+ years of gaming colonial era.

Knights of Dice in Australia have an inexpensive line called Tabula Rasa. They are unfinished MDF shells; a nice compromise if you wnat to save a bit of money and don't mind doing the finishing yourself.

You could look at tablescape.co.uk, who do a Middle Eastern range in a lightweight, expandable foam which is very tough. It also comes ready painted with a far better textured surface than MDF can offer.
