Hi folks,

I'm really excited to announce that Take Cover Scenics has just released a range of Flexible Tarmac Roads in 6mm scale! They're 1" wide (approx 2.5cm), fully textured to look like tarmac/asphalt, including a few cracks here and there, and fully painted and ready to use on the table. Unlike my rural roads, these don't have flock added to the edges as a default setting, as I don't know if customers are planning to use them in a city or rural setting. However, if you ask nicely I'll add flock to any order for no extra charge!

There are 3 sets available. One is a set of straight roads with some added wedge-shaped curved sections. This set gives you 6 feet (183cm) of ready-to-use flexible tarmac roads for only £24.99 GBP plus shipping. Next, there's a set of 3 junctions – a Crossroads, a T-Junction and a Y Junction for £12.00 GBP plus shipping. Finally, there's a set of 2 curves, each measuring 6" long on the outer curve, for £5.00 GBP plus shipping.

They're available in the Online Store right now at takecoverscenics.co.uk Feel free to message me if you have any questions. Cheers, John.

Here are some photos, which all include a 6mm tank for scale purposes…

How thick are they – look about 1/8" to me?

The base material is 2mm thick, so under 1/8". The Tarmac layer is then added, but it's not too thick. Have just measured a piece and it's less than 3mm.

The hedges you see in the last photo are mounted on a 2mm base and the road level is not higher than the hedge base.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

John
