We put together a 8 player, 24 foot long D-Day game of Bolt Action a week ago at the Schenectady Wargaming Association's monthly Gameathon. We had a blast and the Americans eeked out a hard fought win in the face of Nazi oppression! The game could have swung either way right up until the end of the last turn.

Sounds like fun! How did the initiative system work?

Each table had it's own bag of activation dice. We synced up the start of the turns. So when the last player finished a turn, we would continue on. Each table seemed to have its turn being the slowest so we had chances to use the bathroom, get snacks etc…

For cross table interaction we waited for an activation to end and let the effected players know that we wanted to interrupt, and then continued after that.

Great game, Nate.
Hope you do something similar for SWA's Council of Five Nations convention in late Sept. There should be plenty of room at the con for your game.
Hope to see you there.

@47Ronin

We're running a Bolt Action tournament on Saturday. We're thinking of also having some casual play after the tournament, but I've already decided that putting a game of this scale on after a tournament is just too much work unfortunately.

We do have plans on doing a series of linked historical scenarios at the Gameathons in October, November and December. We're very pleased with the turnout for Bolt Action this year and hope to have a more formalized sub-club at the SWA for at the least monthly casual gaming.

Sounds good, Nate.
Hope to see you at Council of Five Nations in Sept.
