I have been reading up on the Army of the Conde' in Russian service during the period 1797-1800. The narrative I read says that they "marched into Germany with Suvorov." Well from what I remember Suvorov marched into northern Italy via Austria. He then waged a very successful campaign against the French with his Austrian allies. Then he was ordered to cross the Alps into Switzerland to link up with Rimsky-Korsakov.
I am looking to see whether:
1. They marched with Suvorov into Austria, were then left behind and later were picked up by Rimsky-Korsakov and marched into Germany with that force.
OR
2. They marched with Rimsky-Korsakov (the later group of Russians to march from Poland) into Germany and fought in Switzerland.
OR
3. They marched into Germany but were not involved in any fighting.
I dont see them in any OB for northern Italy so I immediately discounted them as a part of Suvorov's army there. Thus they obviously did not cross the Alps.
I dont see them on the OB for Second Zurich.
Any information will be appreciated!
