They are a little sharp at the correct end but a quick fix with a touch of a file.

Get the plastic ones from Fireforge/Deus Vult--a couple of different lengths (javelin, spear, and pike) and a better diameter-sized than the thin metal wire options. They are available on EBay and from most retailers who carry Fireforge figures.

Big Red, those are basically the blow gun darts but about three times the cost. The only difference is the darts may be about 10% thicker (though I have had thinner batches) and are 90mm.

Try to find a good broom with bristles that are largely round. Cut carefully, flatten one side with a plier, cut it in form and you have around 1000 pikes for less then 10 bucks. Works for Renaissance pikes – ancients may need more elaborate heads.

When you buy the Fireforge pikes – always go for the longest variant and cut them down. They are the same price anyway, and I never understood their decision to make four moulds rather then just one for the longest variant…
