hey folks, I'm about to start a blogging venture and have 2 questions please. Is it worth while to buy the domain name? I already know that I want to use blogger but I see there is an option to buy the domain for like $12 USD a year, which is somewhat appealing as then i'll 'own' the website. How do you do the cool link thing where instead of posting the entire URL (like a hyperlink I think) there is a word or phrase (like 'link') in a different font color that stands in for the URL. thanks for help! -Stew |

If you buy the domain you still have to pay to have it hosted. If you don't use the free blogger domains (blogspot) it costs money to use blogger with your own domain. I'll answer the second question later. I'll have to make a graphic as any attempt to show the formatting gets picked up as formatting and is invisible. |

Thanks Private, I'll have to consider it. and I appreciate any help about the link. if easier than posting a graphic here (because fo the whole 3rd party hosting thing going on with photobucket, please feel free to email me off TMP at: stewart DOT blain AT gmail DOT com this is largely generated by you anyway,,, : ) since I started with doing the WIDTW challenge that you created and got into the habit of posting on the net. -Stew |
