Finally finished the 2nd Light Bttn KGL and the sharpshooters from the 5th KGL Line Infantry. OK, missing the 1St Light and the Nassauers, but I have many more background photos, so, some day…..Then I must convert the Perry mounted officer to a bicorne look!

All figures are from Brigade Games Miniatures, across the pond and I think their KGL are even better than the Chosen Men Rifles range

Excellent work. Very reminiscent of the famous painting.

Yes, niclely painted fugures with a clever photo backdrop. Well done!

I really like BG figures as well, particulalry the War of 1812 range.

Thanks for the feedback.

I do have the Perry mounted officer and it will not be too difficult to convert him to the Baring look, as in the painting. I added some sword bayonets to the 5th Light Co and gave them Belgic shakos to capture that image as well.

I suspect Adolph Northen would be happy with the homage! And beautiful brushwork as well!

Thanks for sharing the photos.

Please indulge me with one more picture…more the Frenchman's view of the defenders of LHS! I have many pictures of the interior, but mostly used the gateway view as above. It is largely unchanged, other than some new trees. The building are tricky. The modern windows and lack of the roof/attic windows are hard to ignore

Again Liam, this is a really nice composition! I realize now that I "need" the KGL rifles also!! I know how brutal and unforgiving these close-ups of the minis can be, and that makes them even better since they can handle this magnification! Great work mate!!:)

Unforgiving is right. I cringe everytime I see the Sergeant's stripes in the second picture down. Naked eye, even magnified, they looked fine…but in a photo….

Which is odd again. I worked like mad to get max depth of focus, yet the most realistic of the gateway pics is the bottom one, where I instead opened the shutter, overbrightened the image to wash it out, and the result is almost Spielberg on Omaha Beach. Technically it has so many errors, but it works the best I think!

The KGL Sharpshooters I think are unique in 28mm. Light redcoat company with rifles, not sure I have seen them elsewhere before. They were probably even better left in the stovepipe shako for the Peninsula, as intended.

The sword bayonets are spares from a Perry command sprue (British AWI) which had already contributed Louis XVIII with much conversion and Greenstuff. Those little sprue sets can be a bargain and invaluable for conversions.

Very nice, the backdrop really makes them shine.

Deadhead, the painting is excellent and the photography really brings them to life. Thanks for sharing these pictures.

Thanks to both for that. The whole forum has been really quiet and I was sure this one had died the death.

Must be the summer break. But no one is posting right now….

Not one really nasty exchange of insults going on for three pages. Worrying!

Those look lovely .

I think you could be your own worse critic here ! :)

Very nice the I see what you mean about the SGT stripes they are a little too horizontal. Pictures and backdrop are great Photoshop? or printed backdrop?

I really will redo them. I created Baring today by amputating the Perry Mounted officer's head and transplanting a bicorned one. May add some more to try harder for the famous painting.

Photoshop is beyond me, although my lads are experts. This is simply an 8x6 inch print which costs about 75p in most high street stores. Snag is, my mistake, I printed glossy and this needs massive illumination. (Magnification and depth of focus. f32 means exposure time of several seconds, a huge heavy tripod and much cursing)

Do show us your 4th Cuirassiers!
