I'm not a FoW player but I've heard a lot of discussion on some of the special rules the games use. I was wondering which ones might give the best representation in a game and is a favorite in your group. Thanks, Wolfhag |

Von der Heydt can raise the dead. Can't beat that for a special rule. We call him the Fallschirmjaeger Necromancer. Just like the Night's King on Game of Thrones. |

And let's not forget American tank destroyers. They can blink in like X-wing fighters emerging out of hyperspace. |

The Komissar rules for the Soviets always give me a chuckle. |

I think you'd have more luck with a least favorite list. As mentioned teleporting US tank destroyers probably head the list – but there are many other potential candidates. For various reason the designers have taken various failed doctrines, historical myths, super hero leaders etc. and turned them into overpower "special" rules which turn bad ideas into super powers. Well its all in good fun…. TomT |

Agree with the Komissar rule for Soviets. I like the Fins being ski troops so they can double-time in snow & through woodlands. Also love the banzai charge rule for the Japanese (although they call it something else). When they fail platoon morale, rather than bug out, they launch a banzai charge. |

Quite a few of my opponents' fav is Tiger special skills. 95% of the time it is rapid fire (ROF 3) rather than the other 5 possibilities. |

Komissar rules? What are they? |

If a Soviet infantry company fails a motivation (morale) test, the Komissar shoots some of the men & the company gets a re-roll as he attempts to get them to obey orders. (This is represented by removing one stand from the company). If the re-roll is a '1' the troops mutiny & kill the Komissar. |
