I woukd like to remove a base-coat of brown acrylic paint I applied to some scenery: any suggestions, apart from doing a further spray of gray primer? |

Unless you used such a heavy coat as to lose detail, I would just paint over it, treating it as the primer. |

That really is the issue: the coat was indeed rather too heavy and it came out rather shiny for some reason. Perhaps I will do a further spray of primer? Thanks. |

If the paint has to come off, then I soak it in (undiluted) Simple Green for a few days, then brush with an old toothbrush. It's yet to fail me, regardless of the type of paint or surface. Doug |

Simple Green, Lysol, Detol all seem to do the trick. |

Another recommendation for Simply Green. Stuff works great for removing acrylics. |

Lukes APS says to use methylated spirit on his youtube channel and it works! |
