Having been to and enjoyed Bovington and Duxford, I recall reading the Samur claim that it was the biggest or best tank museum in the world. I was skeptical. I made it to their open day when they open the working 'shed' and run a selection of their tanks from their permanent display – I am led to believe they are all 'runners'. From my limited experience it was no idle boast.

Great pics! Must've been quite the experience to see all of them up close and personal.

Doug, Oh lots of other things to do as well, the Museum is pretty close to the centre which has shops and other interest museums galleries etc and the countryside around and about is stunning.

I was there a few years ago. The museum has to be one of the best tank museums in the world. I was amazed at the high quality of most of their tanks. This is very highly recommended.
