Due to a lack of sleep, just made an eBay impulse purchase for a MERCS Recon full KS package. Tons of minis, game does look fun, and sold off my 15mm SF so looking for a replacement.

Any good manufacturers out there for 28mm Near-Future looking APC's and maybe a tank or two? Figure I can use the minis in a generic game as well.

Also how is the regular MERC miniature system? Playable? Enjoyable? Assume with all these minis could use them for the regular game as well.

Thanks,

CW

The Tau line from GW is one. We use the devilfish APC for all kinds of stuff.

If you are looking for more than just APCs definitely head to Antenocitis.

But they have some kick ass AFVs too:

probably some of the best on the market.

The Hunchback APC and Kabardin tank from Atenocity are among my favorites.

Khurasan does a handful of very nice 28mm vehicles, including my favorite: the Caiman APC, a glorious not-Aliens proxy.

I like the vehicles from Pig Iron.

Here is one example, but they have several:

The only thing I have read about the Mercs rules were that they are a trainwreck.

The Tehnolog tanks are dirt cheap, though they look like toys and they're from Russia which isn't exactly popular in the US right now:

The Japanese Type 10 tank kit from Tamiya also looks very near-futuristic: auction

Loved the first few MERCS figs in metal, the KEM Var especially. Played the game several times and found it tried so hard to be different and clever it wound up clunky. I backed their Myth KS hoping it would be different. No. Got lots of nice cartoony fantasy figures though.

I've seen the new plastic faction figs. They look decent, especially if you can get them on sale. Very easy to use them in a generic game system or RPG.

Despite some good ideas and game fluff, it seems MegaCon Games has relegated themselves to a backwater. They feel stagnant.
